Prior to splitting with Siskel, Ebert established a film-writing contest called the Chicago Film Critics Award , which recognized twelve local and national critics as well as established film directors in each year. Since 1995, the award has been sponsored by the Chicago Film Critics Association and administered by the Chicago International Film Festival. Although the award is awarded each year by members of the judging panel, the CFCA has passed a resolution stating that final approval rests with the membership. Winners of the award are sometimes given an all-expenses-paid trip to Cannes, France along with an honorarium for their work. The award has generally garnered over four nominations in the Academy Awards category since it began in 1995, and has been nominated for six Academy Awards, with only one win (for The Silence of the Lambs).
At over 400 pages long, the Ultimate DVD Collection, a massive compilation of Ebert's DVD, Blu-ray and VHS reviews published through to 2013, has been released by Empire online magazine in the UK. The collection, which includes reviews from Ebert's starry-eyed reviews to his more recent, more focused view, is published in a printed book format. Furthermore, it features rare footage taken from his personal collection of movies including the splendidly named Bloodbath in Orlando.
A collection of Ebert's work by author Michael J. W. Williams was published in June 2009 by Black & White Publishing. It includes a foreword by Richard Corliss, the film critic for Time magazine, in which he credits Ebert's "passion for reviewing and for film" for his success in the field.
There are around 10000 websites and over 5300 blogs dedicated to Ebert's work. Many of them began after his death and are not listed in the table below because they do not have available URLs. However, they do promise a resource to fans of Ebert's work until they are no longer online, and so cannot be listed. d2c66b5586
